Ayurvedic Kidney Stone Treatment
Kidney stone disease also known as urolithiasis is a disease in which a solid piece of material is found in the urinary tract which could lead to severe pain in the lower back or abdomen. It may also cause blood in the urine, vomiting or painful urination. Kidney stones are caused by a combination of genetics or environmental factors. Common causes include obesity, some medications, calcium supplements or not drinking adequate fluids. Proper medication and lifestyle changes can greatly help in preventing and curing kidney stones.
Causes
Kidney stones are created when urine contains crystal-forming substances such as calcium, uric acid and oxalate in excessive quantity. Kidney stones are of various types such as calcium stones, struvite stones, uric acid stones and cystine stones. Some of the main risk factors that increase the risk of developing kidney stones are dehydration, poor diet, obesity, digestive diseases and surgery. Genetics also play an important factor as a family history of kidney stones gravely increases the chance of kidney stones. Certain medical conditions are also among the contributing factors for kidney stones.
