Ayurvedic Piles Treatment
Piles or Hemorrhoids are vascular structures in the anal canal that become swollen or inflamed. Hemorrhoids are of two types – internal hemorrhoids and external hemorrhoids. Internal hemorrhoids may lead to painless, bright red rectal bleeding when defecating while external hemorrhoids generally result in pain and swelling of the anal area. Hemorrhoids can be caused by constipation, diarrhea, and prolonged sitting in the toilet. Adopting a healthy lifestyle and eating fiber-rich food can help in controlling piles. Proper medication can also reduce the symptoms and alleviate the pain.

In piles, the lining of the anal canal which contains many veins become enlarged and causes swelling. There are several factors that can lead to hemorrhoids or piles. Some of the contributing factors include constipation, straining at the toilet, and passing hard stools which cause increased pressure around the veins in the anus. Pregnancy, being overweight and aging are some other factors that cause piles. Sitting for long periods of time especially at the toilet also leads to hemorrhoids and should be avoided. In certain cases, hereditary factors also contribute to the instances of piles. Heavy lifting and chronic cough are also included in the contributing factors for piles.
